The Oldham Era

I was surprised to see my face in a Life&Times layout of The Oldham Era a couple of weeks ago - it was nice to see our local market getting some attention. This was the same day that my daughter accidently ingested a walnut from a cookie at the market and had to be taken to the emergency room. Don't worry - all is well.

We changed our sign from using a chalkboard for pricing to placing signs on the tables - we used cardstock with clipart. This was more helpful to our customers - clear pricing.

Chilly rainy days and good coffee

The alarm went off at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning and we awoke to the sounds of wind, thunder, and pouring rain. Should we go to the Market? We waited about fifteen minutes and then decided to go ahead and prepare the two pots of iced lattes and load the vehicles anyway. We figured if we got rained out we would just have a pile of people over to enjoy some splendid drinkidge.

By the time we got to the site the rain had cleared and the sun was peaking through. Turned out to be a great day for business! Then about two hours into it another storm rolled through causing us to pack it up at a high rate of speed. All in all, it was a good two hours of business.

After returning from the market that afternoon, I spent several hours with my friend Jessie, formerly of LaVida Java, pullin' some great espresso shots on the LaSpaziali Vivaldi II. Hope to do it again real soon.

Next time we'll have to break out the vacuum pot and brew a nice Yirga Cheffe. It was a good day.

Join us at the Farmers' Market in downtown LaGrange this Saturday the 25th. We'll have iced White Chocolate Lattes along with coffee made fresh by the cup. You can also purchase whole bean or ground Columbian, Sumatra, Guatemalan, Ethiopian, French Roast, and Columbian Decaf coffees. We'll also be offering our signature espresso blend - Black Smoke - also great as a drip. Come hang out with us!
